Eligibility and exam pattern
Who can apply (NEST 2026)
Studied at least three of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics in Classes 11 and 12; Class 12 passed in 2024 or 2025 or appearing in 2026, with at least 60% (55% for SC, ST and PwD candidates). No age limit.
Exam pattern (NEST 2026)
- Computer based test of 3 hours with four sections: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics
- 20 multiple choice questions per section, 60 marks per section
- 3 marks for a correct answer, minus 1 for a wrong answer
- At least three sections must be attempted to be ranked
